🌀 Day 16 – Leaky Ears & Silent Inflammation

💭 Did you know?
Your ears don’t just hear —
They hold balance, pressure and peace.
My ears used to crackle, pop and clog all day.
Worse in humidity. Worse in mouldy homes.
I couldn’t ground. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t trust what I was hearing — literally.
It wasn’t just “earwax” or “aging.”
It was cytokine chaos. It was a leaky lymph storm.
🔇 I never wear earbuds.
Even low-volume noise can overstimulate a fragile nervous system —
And worsen inflammation in an already leaky headspace.
💔 My ex had chronic ear infections.
He was given antibiotics again and again… but never probiotics.
He also flushed his ears constantly —
Trying to clear what his gut couldn’t digest.
Doctors never asked about mould.
Never questioned the meds.
Never supported his damaged microbiome.
No one told us that antibiotics without probiotics wreck the gut
— and a wrecked gut leaks into the brain.
Especially when you're already holding grief or trauma.
🧠 Leaky Ear Clues I Missed for Years:
• Crackling, popping or hissing inside the ear
• Pressure or fullness when stressed
• Dizziness or lightheadedness on humid days
• Sensitivity to sound or feeling “underwater”
• Clenching jaw, stiff neck, foggy brain
And what did they say?
“Get ear tubes.”
“Try antihistamines.”
“Maybe you’re just anxious.”
But I’ve learned:
You can’t heal in a mouldy environment.
No amount of clean eating or meditation can outpace toxic air.
My body collapsed after visiting a friend’s mouldy home post-COVID.
Just one exposure set me back months.
My ears screamed. My brain buzzed. My balance was gone.
Full-body inflammation from invisible toxins.
🌬️ Recovery takes time.
For me, healing from Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome since conception may take two years —
But every breath in clean air is worth it.

🌀 Healing Leaky Ears: What Helped Me vs. What Hurt Him
My ex had chronic ear infections — doctors prescribed antibiotic after antibiotic with no probiotic support. He also did regular ear washes at home, thinking he was being proactive.
But here’s what no one told him (or us):
🔹 Antibiotics don’t just kill bad bacteria — they wipe out the good, too.
🔹 Without targeted probiotics, they leave the gut wall thin and the brain foggy.
🔹 A damaged gut can leak into the bloodstream and affect the blood-brain barrier — the filter that protects your mind.
🔹 This opens the door to neuroinflammation, anxiety, depression and emotional dysregulation — especially in sensitive bodies.
💔 The truth is: he wasn’t just dealing with ear infections.
He was dealing with trauma, grief, mould exposure and a collapsed microbiome — and the meds made it worse.
🌿 What I Do Instead (Gentle, Drug-Free Tools for Leaky Ears):
Castor oil around the jaw and ears — calms inflammation and drains lymph.
No headphones or earbuds — overstimulation makes leaky ears worse.
Lymphatic drainage — especially before bed (self-massage or gentle bouncing).
Trace minerals — to rebuild electrolyte balance and inner ear fluid stability.
Silence time — I honour quiet as medicine.
Mould-free environment + HEPA filters — always.
Grief journaling + nervous system calming — trauma also “clogs” our hearing and balance centres.
Magnesium + specific probiotic strains — especially L. rhamnosus and B. longum for mood and inflammation.
