🌀 Day 28 of 40 – Leaky Adrenals & Burnout
🌀 Day 28 of 37 – Leaky Adrenals & Burnout
“You’re not lazy or broken — you’re adrenal-tired from living in survival mode for too long.”
~ De-Stress With Dee
💭 Did you know?
Your adrenals help you respond to stress — but when stress never ends, they burn out.
Childhood trauma, over giving, mould, caffeine, cortisol loops — it all adds up.
And no one tells us the truth: Adrenal dysfunction isn’t just tiredness.
It’s feeling wired, weepy, withdrawn or wiped for no reason at all.
I wasn’t just tired.
I was brittle — like my body couldn’t handle one more thing.
My adrenals weren’t failing me.
They were begging me to rest after years of fight-flight-freeze.
😵💫 My adrenal exhaustion whispers included:
• Waking up tired even after sleep
• Feeling wired at night, like my brain couldn’t shut down
• Shakiness, dizziness or nausea when stressed
• Salt cravings or low blood pressure
• Crying easily or feeling numb and disconnected
• Panic attacks or deep fatigue during “nothing” moments
• Feeling like my inner battery never charged
• Crashing after meals, movement or conversations
☕ I used to push through with caffeine.
But every sip was fuelling the fire — not soothing it.
No one asked if I had chronic stress or childhood trauma.
No one asked if my body felt safe enough to rest.
No one taught me that healing begins where hustle ends.
💡 What I now understand:
• You can’t heal in the same stress response that made you sick
• Adrenals don’t need force — they need softness
• Burnout is a trauma response, not a moral failure
• Rest is not a luxury — it’s hormone therapy
🧠 What My Adrenals Were Trying to Say:
• “I’m done surviving — I need restoration”
• “You don’t have to prove your worth through exhaustion”
• “Slow is safe. Stillness is strength”
• “Stop shaming yourself for needing softness”
• “Please let me be supported, not squeezed”
🌿 Adrenal Rituals That Helped Me:
• Deep rest — phone off, blinds closed, nothing to do
• Salt water or adrenal cocktails mid-morning and mid-afternoon
• Protein-rich breakfasts to stabilize cortisol
• Nervous system healing — breath, somatics, singing
• Adaptogens (like ashwagandha or rhodiola) once safety is rebuilt
• Saying no to things that spike stress
• Journal prompt:
“Where am I still proving my worth through doing instead of being?”
🕊️ You’re not lazy. You’re adrenal-tired.
And healing starts when we stop performing and start receiving.
With rest and radical softness,
Momma Lovey Dee

🌿 Daily Adrenal Healing Tools for Soft Strength
Your body is not failing — it’s asking for softness after a lifetime of survival. Begin your day with slowness, end it with restoration.
1. Morning Grounding:
Start your day with warm lemon water or adrenal cocktail (coconut water, sea salt, fresh citrus)
Eat a protein-rich breakfast within 30 minutes of waking to stabilise cortisol
Whisper gently: “I do not need to earn rest. I already deserve peace.”
2. Midday Reset:
Take a 20-minute “do nothing” break: phone off, curtains drawn, body still
Sip warm salted water or herbal tea like licorice root or holy basil
Lie down with one hand on your heart, one on your belly — breathe into stillness
3. Evening Softness:
Lights dim by 8 p.m. — no screens, just quiet music or candlelight
Hum, sigh or sing softly to tone your vagus nerve
Write out: “Where am I doing too much, and what can I gently let go of?”
4. Throughout the Day:
Say “no” more often — to overdoing, overgiving or overstimulating
Trade coffee for warm adaptogen blends once your nervous system feels safe
Move like you love yourself — slow walks, gentle stretches, no pushing
5. Emotional Flow Tools:
Journal prompt: “Where am I still proving my worth through doing instead of being?”
Cry without shame. Nap without guilt. Rest without explaining.
You’re not lazy. You’re recovering.
Let peace be your permission slip.
With deep exhale and gentle pause,
Momma Lovey Dee
