“You’re not moody, broken or too much — your cycle is responding to a life that never felt steady or safe.”
~ De-Stress With Dee
💭 Did you know?
Your menstrual cycle is one of the most sensitive systems in your body — a monthly report card of your stress, sleep, food, nervous system, and unresolved trauma.
When your hormones are out of sync, it’s not just physical — it’s emotional, spiritual and energetic.
I didn’t just have cramps or mood swings.
I was leaking emotion through a womb that never got to feel safe.
Each month, my body screamed through clots, cravings and confusion — and no one asked what my cycle was trying to say.
😣 My cycle whispers included:
• Cramps so intense I had to lie down.
At 40, I chose to have an ablation to remove the lining of my uterus — because I was bedridden 2–3 days every cycle. It was still considered experimental 19 years ago, but I’ve never had pain or a period since.
I gently recommend exploring this option — it brought me deep inner peace and peace of mind.
• Heavy bleeding or spotting mid-cycle
• Mood swings, irritability or crying spells
• Breast tenderness or swollen belly
• Sugar cravings and ravenous hunger
• Insomnia before my period
• Feeling lost, lonely or rageful before bleeding
• Dread, shame or grief around my cycle
🩸 I used to blame myself — and try to fix it with pills, herbs, or pushing through.
But healing didn’t happen until I softened and listened.
No one taught me that my cycle wasn’t broken — it was speaking.
💡 What I now understand:
• Your womb holds memory — not just blood
• A chaotic cycle is often a calm that never came
• Hormone shifts are messengers, not enemies
• You can’t regulate hormones without regulating safety
🧠 What My Cycle Was Trying to Say:
• “I’m not angry — I’m unheard”
• “I’m not dramatic — I’m depleted”
• “I’m not weak — I’m releasing what was never allowed”
• “Please stop silencing me — I’m sacred”
🌿 Cycle-Supporting Rituals That Helped Me:
• Resting on bleed days — feet up, phone off, heart open
• Raspberry leaf and chamomile tea for cramping and calm
• Magnesium-rich foods like leafy greens and pumpkin seeds
• Moon tracking and journaling emotional tides each cycle
• Gentle movement like yin yoga, walking or slow dancing
• Healing inner mother wounds and womb grief
• Journal prompt:
“What part of me wants to be released, not resented, this cycle?”
🕊️ You’re not too much. You’re not unstable.
You’re cycling through a lifetime of emotion, finally ready to be honoured.
Your womb remembers. And healing begins when you start listening.

🌿 Daily Menstrual Cycle Healing Tools
This is not about controlling your cycle — it’s about learning to listen and nourish it.
1. Rest and Rhythm:
Honour bleed days with true rest — feet up, phone off, blankets close
Use heat packs or warm compresses on your belly or lower back
Breathe into your womb with gentle, mindful inhales and sighing exhales
Whisper: “I am safe to soften. I am worthy of rest.”
2. Nourishing Food and Drink:
Sip raspberry leaf, chamomile or nettle tea to ease cramping and calm nerves
Eat magnesium-rich foods like leafy greens, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate
Choose warm, cooked meals that soothe digestion and calm the nervous system
Avoid excess caffeine and sugar spikes that worsen mood swings
3. Movement and Body Connection:
Gentle yin yoga or slow stretching to release pelvic tension
Easy walking in nature to ground and regulate emotions
Restorative poses like child’s pose or legs up the wall
Dance softly or sway to music that soothes you
4. Emotional and Spiritual Care:
Journal emotional tides — track mood swings, dreams, cravings
Ask: “What is my womb trying to say this cycle?”
Practise self-compassion mantras: “I am not too much. I am sacred.”
Create a moon chart or menstrual calendar to understand patterns
5. Herbal and Body Therapies:
Take magnesium baths with Epsom salts to relax muscles and nerves
Use castor oil packs (if not bleeding) to support pelvic circulation
Massage lower belly with warm oil in slow, loving circles
Inhale calming essential oils like lavender or clary sage
You’re not too emotional. You’re cyclical.
You’re not unstable. You’re wise.
You’re remembering what safety feels like — one cycle at a time.
