🌀 Day 33 of 40 – Leaky Fascia ⚡ Stiffness, Stored Trauma & Inflammation
“You’re not stiff, broken or old — your fascia is holding what you never got to release.”
~ De-Stress With Dee
💭 Did you know?
Your fascia is the connective tissue that wraps every muscle, bone and organ like a web of living silk.
It holds your body together — and it holds memory.
Stress, trauma, toxins and inflammation can make fascia rigid, sticky, inflamed.
This stiffness isn’t just “aging.”
It’s your body trying to contain what you never felt safe enough to let move through you.
✨ My Fascia Story:
I have had chronic plantar fasciitis since giving birth to my son in 1998.
For someone who loved running, I would never compete again.
It took 5 years to be diagnosed back then — they said it was the worst case they had ever seen.
I’m a walker for 58 years — my feet are my car :)
I took many jobs working on my feet, ending my days crawling when I got home.
I love walking.
I had to learn ways to manage the torn tendons and inflammation in my feet.
Rolling an ice bottle under my arches.
Pulling a towel with my toes nightly to strengthen the tendons.
The only thing that finally worked was shock therapy to wake up the nerves.
It hurt more than childbirth — and cost $100 a session without coverage.
But it helped.
It gave me back a piece of my freedom.
😣 What no one explained to me:
• Fascia is living, sensing tissue
• It holds emotional trauma as tension
• Chronic stress hardens fascia like armour
• Inflammation makes it sticky and painful
• Fascia connects your feet to your head — it’s a whole-body issue
💡 What I now understand:
• My feet weren’t failing me — they were crying for care
• My fascia held the story of every hard step I took
• Healing isn’t just physical therapy — it’s emotional release
• Safety lets fascia soften
🧠 What My Fascia Was Trying to Say:
• “I’m not weak — I’m overworked”
• “I’m not immobile — I’m guarded”
• “I’m not inflamed for no reason — I’m protecting you”
• “Please be gentle — I’ll loosen when you feel safe”
🌿 Fascia-Supporting Rituals That Helped Me:
• Foot rolling on a frozen bottle for relief
• Towel pulls to strengthen and stretch tendons
• Warm epsom salt soaks for calming inflammation
• Slow, mindful walking — reclaiming safety with each step
• Yin yoga, fascia release, gentle stretching
• Self-talk: “Thank you, feet. Thank you fascia. I see you.”
🕊️ You’re not too much. You’re not broken.
You’re a wise being whose fascia remembers — and wants to let go, when you’re ready.
With warm soaks and softened steps,
Momma Lovey Dee :)

🛏 Red Light & Massage Ritual for Stiff Mornings
When waking stiff or inflamed:
