🫁 Day 7 – Leaky Nose
Leaky Body Series: Where trauma, toxins & tension leak peace from the nervous system — one body part at a time.
💧 Welcome to the Respiratory Storms — #2 of 8: Nose, Throat and Lungs.
Today we begin at the top — the nose. The sacred filter of breath, intuition and presence.
🔹 Always congested?
🔹 Nose drips right when you wake, all day dripping?
🔹 Dry nose?
🔹 One nostril always blocked?
🔹 Lost your sense of smell — or yourself?
It might not be allergies. It might be trauma leaking from the breath.
👃🏼 “The nose knows what the heart won’t say.” — Dee 🌿
🧠 Somatic Signs of a Leaky Nose
• Chronic congestion or post-nasal drip
• Sinus pressure or infections
• Dry crusty nostrils
• Sensitivity to smells or perfumes
• Snoring or mouth breathing
• “Can't breathe” moments — even when you're not sick
These aren’t just sinus problems. They're nervous system patterns — trying to breathe through the weight of your past.
🌬️ Where Peace Leaks from the Nose
• Unprocessed grief (the kind you never cried out)
• Childhood environments with yelling, smoke or mould
• Traumatic memories stored in the nose via scent triggers
• Hypervigilance — “on high alert” all the time
• Mouth breathing from trauma or tension
• Shallow breath = shallow peace
🌪️ What Causes These Wounds?
• Suppressed crying — “Stop crying or I’ll give you something to cry about”
• Breathing in chaos — mould, smoke, perfumes, stress
• Sinus trauma or surgeries
• Chronic stress hijacking the breath
• Emotional shutdown after grief or shock
Often misdiagnosed as:
Allergies • Chronic Rhinitis • Sinusitis • Deviated Septum • Asthma Onset
👉 Sometimes, the real diagnosis is: Your body’s been holding its breath.
🌿 Healing the Nose — Gate of Breath & Intuition
🧘♀️ De-Stress Tip: Alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) to gently reset your nervous system.
🧂 De-Tox Tip: Use a neti pot or saline spray to clear emotional and physical channels.
🌀 De-Freeze Tip: Massage the bridge of your nose and cheekbones. Whisper, “I’m allowed to breathe again.”
🌙 Sleep Tip: Diffuse eucalyptus or lavender before bed. Invite peace in with each inhale.
🗑️ Declutter Tip: Toss that old scented product giving you headaches. You’re not “too sensitive” — you’re wise.
🥬 De-Bloat Tip: Sip ginger garlic lemon coconut water. I drink this nightly. It clears lungs, not just bellies. Note: Too much ginger can cause loose stools.
❓ Did You Know?
• Your nose links to your limbic system — where emotional memory lives.
• The vagus nerve runs through nasal cavities — inflammation affects calm, digestion and regulation.
• Chronic congestion can be emotional protection from “what’s in the air.”
• Mouth breathing bypasses your body’s natural filtration system and strains your nervous system.
💥 From My Heart
Most of my life, I couldn’t cry.
Tears buried beneath silence, survival and staying strong.
Then in my 50s, I met a soul who cried freely.
His softness gave me what I didn’t know I needed — permission to feel.
Now my nose leaks every morning.
And my son’s drips all day.
It’s not just seasonal.
It’s nervous systems exhaling grief we held for decades.
There was a time I couldn’t smell anything.
I blamed allergies and mould, but the truth?
I was holding my breath through heartbreak, loss and pretending I was fine.
When I let myself cry, feel and finally breathe all the way in — my nose began to clear.
Now every inhale feels like presence.
Like peace.
Like I finally belong to this breath. ✨
💞 Ever felt like you couldn’t breathe — even when nothing was wrong?
Do certain scents trigger memories you can’t explain?
Drop a comment or heart if this resonates.
You’re not broken — your breath just needs safety.
Your nose remembers. And it deserves peace too.
🔜 Day 8: The Throat
Where words were swallowed and voices silenced.
You’re not voiceless — your truth just needs space to rise.

Are you a lover, not a fighter? Your body feels what you cannot say.
