The Myth of the “Selfless Servant”
For decades, many of us—especially the parentified first-born fixers—have operated under a false narrative. We believed that to “Lead with Love” meant to be a silent observer of our own destruction. We did the dishes, we managed the household and we held the “Mickey Mouse” nights of white rum or the 60 oz weekends just to quiet the screaming in our souls.
Mickey Mouse and I share a Birthday, and I drank a mickey of rum most nights for 30 years. Minus when I was pregnant. We thought we were protecting the peace. In reality, we were bartering with the universe, trading our biological health for a temporary, toxic quiet.
The Biology of the “Dark Energy”
When you remain in a toxic environment, your body isn’t just “stressed”—it is in a Cell Danger Response (CDR). This is a metabolic shutdown. Your cells stop communicating, your mitochondria stop producing energy for growth and they go into a “defence” mode.
This isn’t just about you. Your children’s cells and souls are tuned into your frequency. When you are in biological lockdown, they feel the “dark energy” too. You cannot “clean eat” or exercise your way out of a toxic environment. You cannot “biohack” a soul-wound while you are still sleeping in a tent of tension.
The Macro & Micro Leak: As Above, So Below
We must realise that our “fast fixes” don’t just stop at our skin. These fast foods, fast sugars and fast boozes are drowning Mother Earth in the same way they drown our cells. With only 9% of materials being recycled globally, we are witnessing a planetary crisis—a leaky Mother Earth.
This isn’t a coincidence; it is a mirror. A leaky planet and a leaky body are connected. When we use toxic “fast” solutions to soothe our internal pain, we contribute to the external waste that is suffocating the environment. To heal one, we must begin to heal the other.
The “Inside Job” of Alcohol Peace
If you are currently self-soothing with “fast” toxins—fast food, fast sugar, fast booze and fast fashions—it is time to stop the self-sabotage. Your brain only knows what you tell it. If you are grabbing for that bottle, ask yourself the HALT questions:
Hungry?
Angry?
Lonely?
Tired?
Those aren’t cravings. Those are inner child wounds that need to be nurtured, not drowned.
Celebrating the Milestone
True soul leadership is what we are seeing today in our community. One of our own at Dee’s Dharma is now 4 days into her Alcohol Peace journey. She is no longer bartering. She is finally showing up for her inner child—the soul that has been waiting 50 years (or 27 or 16) to be protected. She is telling her cells: “We are safe now.”
Protecting the Nest
Earth Day is every day, but the most important environment you will ever manage is the one inside your skin. Unless you are an “Oops Baby” who was the 3rd parent, you must parent your own soul and cells to find C-PTSD Peace and rest in peace now in your moments.
Remove the dark energy. Draw the boundary. Finally, allow yourself the deep, restful sleep that comes when you stop being a servant to the toxic and start being a leader of your own light. You aren’t a ‘disorder’—you are a High-Sensing Person responding to a toxic Matrix.
