Sober Soul Care Sunday | For My Light Sleepers & Tender Nervous Systems
Good morning Sweet Souls. Today I celebrate 420 Sundays of addiction peace since Nov 21, 2017 — the day I found my why to walk away from rum and choose a life of peace at rest.
How are you from 1–10? Did you sleep OK with the recent full moon? Share in the comments if you feel comfy.
Here is the truth you deserve to hear:
👉 Alcohol-induced sleep is not restorative
👉 Sugar makes the nervous system more fragile
👉 Synthetic meds hit highly sensitive bodies like a freight train
👉 Environmental illness can mimic bipolar, ADHD, anxiety and BPD
👉 Doctors often miss it when your body looks “healthy”
Did you know many of us who hear every little noise at night… the fridge hum, the neighbour’s sneeze, the mouse toot through two closed doors… were never mentally ill at all?
We were environmentally ill.
Sensitive not sick.
Misdiagnosed because our bodies speak louder than the average nervous system.
If this sounds like you, you have found your people.
I’m writing this for…
🌙 Light sleepers who shut down in bright lights and wake at the slightest noise
💜 Deep feelers who carry emotions like sacred medicine
🌌 Sober curious night thinkers searching for peace in the quiet hours
🕊️ Sweet silent observers of life who wouldn’t hurt a fly
👩👧 Parents caring for unwell kids while holding everyone else together
🍷 Those who self‑soothed with alcohol just to fall asleep
🔎 Lifelong health detectives who rarely caught colds but still got knocked down by mold, Long COVID, CIRS, MCAS and cytokine storms
🫀 First‑born fixer‑type parentified hearts who grew up in tense homes with no hugs and still carry the burden of being “the strong one”
🩺 Those dismissed by doctors, suffering in silence with inflammation that brings dark thoughts
❓ Anyone asking yourself why they can’t find the root cause
You’re not broken and you were never too sensitive you were too environmentally sensitive for a world that keeps pretending humans are metal instead of nature.
For decades I thought my suffering since age 5 was because of trauma alone.
Turns out it was trauma plus toxic air
trauma plus a leaky microbiome
trauma plus environmental illness misdiagnosed as mental illness
trauma plus a nervous system that was working overtime since the womb.
If I hadn’t stopped the booze, sugar, processed foods and synthetic meds I would not be here today and I say that with my whole chest.
Today’s video on the new Sober Soul Love channel — a 420‑friendly space with medical marijuana reviews — is for those of you who thought you were mentally ill when really you were living with CIRS, environmental triggers, toxin overload and a hyper‑aware sensory system designed by nature.
We are the ones who feel the world before it happens.
We sense danger before others smell it.
We absorb tension before anyone speaks.
We shut down in bright lights and wake up at the slightest noise and think it’s our fault.
It’s not your fault.
It’s your wiring.
It’s your biology and your biology is beautiful.

Tonight, create a small “sleep buffer zone” — sometimes called sleep hygiene.
Dim the lights early
reduce stimulation
hydrate your microbiome (finishing at least 3 hours before bed and before 11pm)
turn off synthetic scents and give your nervous system something it never got in childhood: predictable calm.
Your sensitivity is not a weakness.
It is intelligence and nature always knew your truth even when the world called it illness.
If you self soothe because of sexual trauma or decades of narcissistic relationships that wore your nervous system thin.
You are safe here.
Seen here.
Held here.
We are all connected on the path to c-ptsd peace in a toxic world.
