The Battle at Home: Toxic Secrets on Canada's Military Bases
This week's Toxic Trauma Tuesday uncovers a hidden health crisis affecting veterans and their families—and how you can help demand change.
🧠 Toxic Trauma Tuesday: Did You Know?
Happy Hello Peaceful tribe,
How are you really? Even though you are doing all the right things to heal your body, what about your environment?
This week’s Toxic Trauma Tuesday hits close to home.
I’m Dee and today I’m helping amplify an urgent message from my trauma-and-toxin soul sister—Jetgirl on TikTok, aka Vicky-Lynn a member here of our tribe at Dee’s Dharma.
Together, we’re two Canadian women in midlife, spreading the word about how our toxic environments are making us sick. For me, it wasn't just C-PTSD—it was mould illness. Once I detoxed the toxins and traumas from my tissues and environment, I reversed my lifelong health issues.
🇨🇦 Did You Know?
Military bases across Canada are contaminated with toxic soil, hidden environmental data and a legacy of illness that’s only now coming to light.
These issues are happening on bases across the country.
High rates of MS, Parkinson’s, cancer, rare autoimmune and vascular illnesses are showing up in people who lived and worked on or near these sites.
Even worse?
The environmental data that could support their health claims was never made transparent.
This isn’t just a policy failure. It’s a human tragedy.
🧬 Why It Matters to Me
I was born in 1966, sick from the start. My tonsils were removed at six months. I lived on mouldy military bases until 1977. I was the parentified firstborn, navigating trauma, instability and a body that never felt safe.
Since the 70s, I’ve had bloating, loosey goosey stools, anxiety, insomnia, painful spine and neck, dark thoughts caused by misophonia and deep fear in mouldy environments.
Internal bleeding started in 2013.
I experienced MS-type symptoms and a full cytokine system body collapse on September 11, 2024.
My healing began when I detoxed metals, mould and trauma from my tissues and surroundings.
I now sleep peacefully for the first time in 50 years.
My digestion is smooth.
My food fears and anxiety? Gone.
All thanks to the Buddha Berry Peace Tree method, no meds needed and radical environmental healing.
It wasn’t mental illness. It wasn’t menopause.
It wasn’t just aging. It was C-PTSD and environmental illness.
✊ What You Can Do
The NDDN Committee contamination study was paused before the last election. It’s reconvening mid-September. Letters sent this week and next can make a real impact.
💌 I’ve included a sample letter below for you to send to your local MP.
Please take a moment to copy, paste and personalize it.
Your voice matters.

Let’s detox the silence.
Let’s speak truth to trauma.
We’re not here to scare you.
We’re here to wake you up.
This video
uncovers the hidden crisis of "forever chemical" (PFAS) contamination on Canadian & US military bases. Used in firefighting foam for decades, these toxins have seeped into the soil and water, leading to alarming clusters of illnesses—including cancer, being born with a compromised immune system like myself in 1966, MS ( I reversed MS type symptoms) and Parkinson's—among veterans, their families and surrounding communities.
We discuss the lack of transparency, the paused government study and exactly how you can take action by sending the letter in the comments to your MP to demand accountability and cleanup.
Thank you for sharing, this message is being blocked on socials.
With loving kindness, from a Navy’s daughter—born with a compromised immune system and only discovered the truth at 58.
Have you been sick too since you were a kid?
Share in the comments if you feel comfortable.

📝 Letter to Your Local MP – Urging Action on Contaminated Military Sites Subject: Urgent Action Needed on Contaminated Military Sites and Health Impacts
Dear [MP's Name],
I am writing to you as a concerned Canadian citizen regarding troubling revelations about contaminated soil and environmental hazards on military bases across Canada. These issues were highlighted in the December 5, 2024 meeting of the Standing Committee on National Defense (NDDN) where scientists, health professionals and advocates—including Erin Zimmerman—testified about alarming rates of multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, cancer and other rare illnesses among those who lived and worked near these sites.
The human toll is heartbreaking. Families are suffering, and veterans and employees are left without access to critical environmental data that could support their health claims. It is unacceptable that such data exists but was never made transparent.
I urge you to:
Support the resumption and completion of the NDDN Committee’s contamination study which was paused before the last election
Ensure full transparency and public access to environmental data related to contaminated military sites
Advocate for medical and financial support for affected individuals and families including veterans and civilian employees
The NDDN Committee is reconvening mid-September. Letters sent this week and next can make a real impact. I ask that you raise this issue in Parliament and push for accountability and action.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response and your support for those affected.
Sincerely,
