🍁✨🇨🇦 A Little Love Letter to Canada
And a few wild facts that’ll make you say “no way!”
Hey friends,
I was born in Moncton, New Brunswick—home of the mysterious Magnetic Hill, where cars appear to roll uphill in neutral. (Spoiler: it’s an optical illusion… kinda like how our bodies sometimes trick us into thinking we’re “broken” when we’re actually just inflamed.)
As a navy’s daughter, a lifelong history buff, and someone who was once married on Canada Day, I can say with full heart: I’ll never live anywhere else. This land is magic. From butter tarts to belugas, from maple syrup to Magnetic Hill—Canada is full of wonder, weirdness, and quiet strength.
Here are just a few reasons I’ll always call it home:
📬 The longest waitlist in Canadian history? The Peace Tower flag from Parliament Hill. I received mine in 2011! (Photo in comments.)
👑 I even saw the Queen on Canada Day in 2010 with my son. 🌊 I’ve been to Niagara Falls 10 times (7 of those with one person 😉) and I’m ready for lucky number 11. 🍁 Canada didn’t get its own flag until 1965—almost 100 years after becoming a country!
